MasterChef is a Spanish competitive reality televisioncooking show based on the British television cookinggame show of the same title. It's a celebrity special spin-off of the series Masterchef Spain, that premiered on La 1 on 10 April 2013. The show is hosted by Eva González. Jordi Cruz, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera and Pepe Rodríguez repeat as the judges of the show. The first season premiered the 6 of November 2016.^[1]

On February 28, 2018, RTVE renewed the program for a third season to be aired in the period 2018-2019.^[2]

Show Format[edit]

Each episode follows the same script, and it's divided in three challenges. At the end of every episode, one contestant is evicted.

• First challenge. It happens on the studios. Once they are finished, the judges deliberate and the two to three best dishes determine who will be the captains in the following challenge. It has variable formats and it changes each episode, the most common are:
  • Mystery Box Challenge. The contestants receive ingredients with which they have to make a dish according to the specifications of the judges. The contestants have a certain amount of time in order to do this.
  • Creative Test. It's a free dish, but the judges dictate some rules or twists the contestants must follow.
  • Pressure Test. A celebrity chef visits the set and instructs the contestants on how to make his most famous dish. The contestants have to then recreate it. Sometimes the judges make the dishes contestants have to recreate.
• Team Challenge. Is the second challenge each episode. This challenge takes place outside of the kitchens of Masterchef and usually involves cooking for groups of people. The captains have to choose between the dishes that they are going to prepare and which of the other contestants will be on their team. The losing team then faces off in the elimination round.
• Elimination Test. The winning team observes the losing team from the gallery from in the final challenge. The losing team has to cook the recipe chosen by the judges. The format of this challenge it's usually in the same style as the used in the First challenge. The judges «deliberate» and the contestant that has made the «worst» dish is eliminated from the program.

MasterChef Selebriti Malaysia (English: Celebrity MasterChef Malaysia) is a Malaysian competitive cooking game show. It is spin-off of MasterChef Malaysia, itself an adaptation of the British show MasterChef, and features celebrity contestants. It began production in May 2012 and premiered on Astro Ria and Mustika HD on 25 May 2012.

Format[edit]

MasterChef Malaysia has a different format in each episode. A typical episode format is as follows:

1. Saturday - Peti Saji Misteri & Ujian Cipta Rasa. Each participant is given a box containing ingredients to cook the same and need to prepare a meal using ingredients given alone. This dish will be felt by Chef MCM, and a winner will be selected. Peti Saji Misteri winner will be given the opportunity to choose the main course of the Ujian Cipta Rasa. Participants must create a dish using the selected main dish.

2. Sundays - Ujian Sajian Pantas & Penyingkiran. Three participants who are unable to satisfy Chef MCM from the night before the challenge will be a recipe for a particular dish. They need to produce the same dish in the allotted time. Participants who make poor meal would be eliminated from the competition.

3. Monday - Cabaran Sajian Luar. The participants will be divided into teams consisting of the same number and was given the task and time frame to complete this challenge. The task is like cooking for the black tie or military camps. The losing team will face relegation next night.

4. Tuesday - Ujian Sajian Pantas & Penyingkiran. Participants who are unable to satisfy Chef MCM from the night before the challenge will be a recipe for a particular dish. They need to produce the same dish in the allotted time. Participants who make poor meal would be eliminated from the competition.
