Datavail commissioned Forrester Consulting to evaluate the viability of a managed service approach to database administration. With the explosion in the variety, velocity and volume of data and databases, coupled with the scarcity of DBA talent, the time is right to consider an alternative approach to managing databases. You are trying to connect to a database v. 'v' is the connect identifier. However, your Oracle client does not know of v. This is what the error message is trying to tell you.
Try
Hopefully this will give you something like this:
What you can extract from this is the location:
This is where your tnsnames.ora file resides. Edit this file and add the correct information for your database v. Substitute servername for the machine your Oracle database is on.
ReneReneHi Experts
We are facing this error 'ORA 12154 tns could not resolve the connect identifier specified' in alert log file while shipping logs to standby database. We have checked tnsping from both the servers (prim and stndby) are successful. If we are trying to connect standby database from primary database with command 'sqlplus sys/password@standby as sysdba', it is successful.
